Job summary

RCM Healthcare Services seeks an Inpatient Coding Auditor to support healthcare organizations by performing quality reviews of inpatient coding to ensure compliance, accuracy, and consistency in complex hospital environments.

Remote position with a flexible schedule and 40 hours per week. The role requires AHIMA certification, 5+ years of inpatient auditing experience, and strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, DRG methodologies, and EMR/CAC tools.

Qualifications

• Active AHIMA Certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a facility inpatient auditor.
• Experience auditing in Level I Trauma and/or major academic medical centers.
• U.S.-based coding/auditing experience.
• Experience working remotely with strong attention to quality and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality audits on inpatient coders to ensure compliance with coding guidelines and organizational policies.
• Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, MS-DRG, APR-DRG, and CPT/HCPCS codes based on clinical documentation.
• Review physician documentation for coding accuracy and appropriateness.
• Provide education and feedback to coders and providers as needed.
• Utilize EMR systems, encoders, and computer-assisted coding (CAC) tools.
• Maintain high-quality standards in a remote, production-based environment.
