Job summary

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Coder Proficiency Exam (pre-hire).
• Ability to adapt to change and ambiguity.

• Comply with AHIMA ethics and UHDDS standards.
• Knowledge of CCI and CMS compliance issues.
• Ability to work with others and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Reviews medical record documentation and assigns ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes for MS-DRG/APR-DRG.
• Abstracts required data per facility specs.
• Monitors Discharged Not Billed accounts and supports timely inpatient processing.
• Collaborates with CDSs and medical staff to ensure complete documentation.
• Maintains quality and productivity standards.
• Communicates effectively with team and leadership.
• Keeps up with CMS requirements and coding guidelines.
