Job summary

Mosaic Life Care seeks an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for acute care inpatient, rehab, swing bed, and LTACH services. The role involves querying providers, resolving coding edits, and mentoring coders to meet quality and productivity goals.

The ideal candidate has HIM inpatient coding experience, knowledge of coding guidelines, and strong analytical skills to improve documentation and coding accuracy.

Qualifications

• Must have coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy, query guidelines - Required
• Associate's Degree - Health Information Management / Medical Records - Required OR
• Bachelor's Degree - Health Information Management / Medical Records - Preferred

Responsibilities

• Codes complex diseases, procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10-CM/PCS for inpatient services.
• Queries providers following Official Query Guidelines for documentation improvement.
• Assigns MS-DRG and APR-DRG in alignment with regulatory guidelines.
• Mentors and trains coders and completes coding projects.
• Ensures data accuracy for regulatory reporting and coding quality goals.
