Qualifications

• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with EMR systems (EPIC preferred) and encoder tools (3M 360 preferred).
• Maintain four-day turnaround times for inpatient coding and DRG accuracy.
• AHIMA credentials (CCS/CCA/RHIA/RHIT) or CIC from AAPC required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD-10-CM/PCS codes to determine DRG assignments.
• Abstracts pertinent data and sequences diagnoses per guidelines.
• Queries physicians when documentation is unclear or inadequate.
• Maintains productivity and supports CDI and departmental goals.
