Job summary

LaSalle Network is partnering with a leading healthcare organization to identify an experienced Inpatient Coder for a fully remote, contract-to-hire role. The ideal candidate will have hospital or academic medical center inpatient coding experience and be comfortable coding complex cases while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities include ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, assigning MS-DRGs, reviewing documentation, and maintaining productivity.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional inpatient coding experience.
• Certification in RHIT, RHIA, or CCS is required.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Experience with hospital or academic medical centers; trauma center experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Review medical records and physician notes to assign diagnoses and procedures.
• Analyze complex inpatient cases and identify principal and secondary diagnoses.
• Assign MS-DRGs and ensure reimbursement accuracy.
• Review charts for coding accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Identify documentation gaps and collaborate with internal teams.
• Maintain coding productivity and quality standards.
• Stay current with coding guidelines and CMS requirements.
• Work remotely and meet productivity and quality expectations.
