Elliot Hospital is seeking a Hospital Inpatient Coder to assign ICD-10 and DRG codes for inpatient services in accordance with guidelines and payer requirements. This remote-friendly role supports revenue integrity and requires collaboration with coding leadership to resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of medical coding experience.
• Current AHIMA or AAPC Coding Certification(s).
• Experience with healthcare coding audits and appeals.
• Ability to meet deadlines consistently and reliably.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assign ICD-10 and DRG codes to hospital inpatient services per guidelines and payer requirements.
• Interpret office notes, operative and procedure notes and assign codes and modifiers for compliance and optimal reimbursement.
• Ensure compliance with coding standards, organizational protocols, and documentation regulations.
• Maintain a minimum 95% coding accuracy rate through QA and audits.
