Cedars Sinai is seeking an experienced Hospital Inpatient Coder to join its Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) team. You will review documentation, assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, and determine DRG outcomes for patient stays.

You will work with systems like EPIC CS-Link, Solventum, and Select Coder, ensuring accurate coding across facilities while collaborating with CDI to improve documentation quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• A minimum of 3 years’ work experience doing code assignment in a healthcare setting performing similar coding duties required.
• Registered Health Info Tech, Registered Health Info Admin, Certified Professional Coder, Certified Coding Specialist, or Certified Coding Spec Phys required upon hire.

Responsabilités

• Reviews medical documentation/health information and assigns codes (ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS) within productivity and quality standards.
• Abstracts data elements for reporting and statistical capture using applicable systems (EPIC CS-Link, HB, PB, Solventum).
• Applies knowledge of industry coding requirements and impact (SDOH, PSI).
• Resolves complex inpatient edits/alerts with current guidelines in area/specialty.
• Communicates with CDI team to ensure complete coding profile.
• Translates records and assigns standardized codes (ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS) for patients at Cedars Sinai Health System.
• Collaborates with CDI to align clinical and coding approaches and supports CDI discussions.
• Abstracts data elements to satisfy statistical requests and seeks documentation clarity from physicians.
