Job summary

Cedars-Sinai Health System invites applications for a Hospital Inpatient Coder. The role centers on assigning ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes by reviewing clinical documentation to determine DRG representations of patient stays.

Responsibilities include data abstraction, collaboration with the CDI team, and ensuring accurate coding across MS-DRG and APR-DRG frameworks. A minimum of 3 years’ coding experience and related certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience coding in healthcare settings.
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and health information systems.
• Knowledge of MS-DRG and APR-DRG concepts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes from documentation per guidelines.
• Identify principal diagnosis, comorbidities, and POD indicators.
• Collaborate with CDI team to align coding approaches and ensure complete profiling.
• Abstract data elements for reporting and statistics in applicable systems.
