Job summary

Capital Health seeks a CCS-certified hospital coder to review inpatient records and assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and ICD-10-PCS procedures. You will ensure accurate DRG assignments and proper MCC/CC capture while complying with guidelines and payer rules.

You will query providers when documentation is unclear, collaborate with CDI and revenue cycle teams, and stay current with ICD-10 updates. Excellent communication and time management are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; CCS certification mandatory.
• Experience with hospital coding and inpatient records preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient records to assign accurate ICD-10-CM diagnoses and ICD-10-PCS procedures.
• Ensure correct DRG/APR-DRG assignment and proper MCC/CC capture.
• Query clinicians when documentation is incomplete or ambiguous.
• Collaborate with CDI and revenue cycle teams to improve documentation.
• Maintain credentials and stay current with coding updates and regulations.
