Job summary

Pena4 Inc is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) to join our 100% remote team. You will handle inpatient and outpatient coding using ICD-10-CM/PCS, HCPCS CPT, and related references with emphasis on accuracy and DRG optimization, working weekdays on full-time hours.

Requirements include at least 5 years IP PCS coding experience, CCS certification, and a preference for 3+ years OP coding. Start date is immediate and assessments may be required to qualify.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of IP PCS Coding experience is required.
• CCS certificate is required.
• At least 3 years OP coding experience preferred.
• Schedule is weekdays with full-time hours.
• Remote 100% deployment; W2 regular employment.
• System experience includes Cerner, PowerChart, 3M and EPIC.

Responsibilities

• Examine complete medical records to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence diagnoses and procedures accurately and maintain high accuracy.
• Aim for optimal DRG assignments with support from computer systems.
• Maintain steady productivity and quality.
• Request additional information when needed for accurate coding/DRG assignment.
• Stay current with coding guidelines and share knowledge with colleagues.
