Responsibilities

• Examines the complete medical record to determine principal and secondary diagnoses, procedures, and complications.
• Accurately sequences diagnoses and procedures, maintains 95% accuracy.
• Strives to obtain optimal DRG assignments with computer-assisted support.
• Demonstrates consistent performance and maintains productivity and quality.
• Requests additional information as needed for accurate code/DRG assignment.
• Keeps current on coding literature and shares updates with colleagues.
