Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS) for a 100% remote W2 role. Requires 5+ years IP PCS coding and CCS certification, with 3+ years OP coding preferred. Must work regular daytime shifts with experience in Cerner, PowerChart, 3M and EPIC.

The successful candidate will review complete records, assign diagnoses and procedures, and maximize DRG accuracy while maintaining high quality and productivity. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of IP PCS coding experience.
• At least 3 years OP coding experience preferred.
• CCS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Examine complete medical records to determine principal and secondary diagnoses, procedures, and complications.
• Sequence diagnoses and procedures accurately, maintaining high accuracy.
• Strive for optimal DRG assignments with system assistance.
• Maintain a steady level of productivity and quality.
• Hold accounts when more information is needed for accurate codes/DRG.
• Review coding literature and stay current with coding guidelines.
• Complete assignments as directed by management.
• Pursue continuing education and professional development.
• Work as a team member to meet department goals.
• Perform related duties or special projects as assigned.
