Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Certified Coding Associate (CCA) with AHIMA credential is preferred/required.

Responsibilities

• Attends educational meetings to maintain certification and continuing education requirements.
• Maintains patient confidentiality per MHS standards and regulatory requirements.
• Meet and maintain Memorial Healthcare System coding quality and productivity standards.
• Submit daily productivity reports to manager by deadline.
• Review and validate ADT data fields and POA indicators.
• Review inpatient records to assign and sequence appropriate codes per official guidelines.
• Review MS-DRGs and APR-DRGs for proper code assignment.
• Formulate physician queries for CDI validation and follow-up.
• Seek clarification from providers to ensure accurate coding.
