Job summary

24-MAG LLC is offering a freelance remote opportunity for experienced US-based Inpatient Medical Coders with ICD-10-CM/PCS expertise to support AI training and evaluation in inpatient coding workflows.

You will review complex records, apply coding guidelines, assess MS-DRG classification, and provide feedback to improve AI-driven documentation and coding accuracy while working remotely with a minimum of 10 hours per week.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding guidelines.
• Experience in inpatient facility coding and clinical documentation improvement.
• Ability to determine principal and secondary diagnoses across complete inpatient admissions.
• Familiarity with MS-DRG assignment and POA indicators.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient records to ensure accurate diagnosis and procedure coding.
• Apply coding guidelines to complex documentation.
• Assess MS-DRG assignment and MCC/CC impact.
• Evaluate documentation for consistency and need for provider queries.
• Validate AI-generated notes and coding recommendations.
