Job summary

YO AI Labs is seeking a Certified Inpatient Medical Coder to contribute to an AI training project focused on improving medical data accuracy and integrity. You will review inpatient records and AI-generated notes to ensure ICD-10-CM/PCS coding aligns with guidelines and CDI standards.

The role requires active credentials (CIC/CCS/RHIA/RHIT/COC) and hands-on experience with inpatient coding, with a commitment of at least 10 hours per week. Remote work within the United States is offered.

Qualifications

• Active certification in a relevant credential (CIC, CCS, RHIA, RHIT or COC).
• Hands-on inpatient ICD-10-CM/PCS coding experience.
• Access to current ICD-10-CM/PCS references and Coding Clinic guidance.
• Experience CDI or related documentation role.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient records for accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS coding per guidelines.
• Assess documentation for accuracy, completeness, and coding integrity.
• Identify principal/secondary diagnoses and sequence codes per official guidelines.
• Validate MS-DRG assignments, CCs/MCCs, HACs, and safety indicators.
• Evaluate AI-generated notes against documentation standards.
• Code AI-generated information using ICD-10-CM/PCS classifications.
• Resolve coding discrepancies to maintain accurate data capture.
• Provide clear feedback on errors to improve model performance.
