Job summary

The Inpatient Clinical Coder at Clover Health is a key part of the Payment Integrity team, coordinating DRG denial reviews and identifying overpayments to ensure accurate inpatient payments. You will collaborate with Clinical, Claims, and MDs to verify clinical rationale behind billed procedures and drive compliant, efficient claim processing across the organization.

Qualifications

• CCS or CIC certification required.
• Knowledge of DRG pricing methodology required.
• 1–2 years of inpatient clinical coding experience preferred.
• Medicare/Medicare Advantage payment integrity experience preferred.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Clinical, Claims, and Payment Integrity peers to review DRG related issues and identify inaccurate payments.
• Proactively identify overpayments to ensure accurate inpatient claims payments.
• Collaborate with MDs to verify clinical rationale behind billed procedures.
• Communicate effectively to build trust across multi-discipline teams and ensure proper provider notification.
• Support DRG validation and clinical review workflows.
