Job summary

IKS Health is seeking an experienced Facility Inpatient Acute Care Medical Coder to join our remote team. The role focuses on accurate DRG assignments, chart abstraction, and timely entry of coded data in real time during the shift.

Strong IP coding background and CCS credentials are required. Candidates should have at least three years of IP coding experience in large acute care settings, with proficiency in ICD-10-CM and CPT and an ability to work independently while collaborating with client

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Inpatient medical and surgical admissions experience.
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding principles and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to identify diagnoses and procedures and determine DRG.
• Select principal diagnosis and principal procedure with DRG assignment.
• Abstract information from the medical record per client guidelines; ensure accurate coding.
• Enter coded charts in real‑time during the scheduled shift and maintain high productivity and quality.
