Job summary

Openkrill is seeking an Infrastructure Support Specialist to join a remote, nationwide team serving automotive and retail clients across the United States. You will troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues and support servers, POS, printers, scanners, RF devices, and other connected equipment.

You will collaborate with customers, vendors, data centers, and internal teams, document cases, manage tickets to SLAs, and identify opportunities for service improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a customer-facing technical support or infrastructure role.
• Experience in retail, automotive, or technology environments preferred.
• Hands-on troubleshooting servers, desktops, POS, printers, RF devices.
• Windows and Linux fundamentals; basic client/server tech.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, routing, firewalls.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent communication for non-technical audiences.
• Remote, independent work in different time zones.
• Certifications or advanced networking/security knowledge beneficial.
• Remote work eligibility within United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support with high-quality assistance.
• Troubleshoot hardware and peripherals: servers, POS, printers, RF devices.
• Investigate software issues; ensure reliability.
• Analyze connectivity: TCP/IP, VPNs, DNS, firewalls.
• Communicate root causes and resolutions clearly.
• Coordinate with vendors and data centers.
• Document cases and actions in support systems.
• Manage tickets per SLAs; escalate as needed.
• Billing for time-and-materials when required.
• Identify opportunities for additional services.
• Contribute to continuous improvement.
