Job summary

GovCIO is hiring an Infrastructure Security Lead for a US Coast Guard program. This fully remote role operates within the United States and focuses on maturing security posture across network, ICAM, and ATO processes.

The ideal candidate will lead security architecture reviews, threat modeling, risk assessments, and incident response, while collaborating with IT, DevOps, and cloud teams to implement secure infrastructure aligned with NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, FISMA, and FedRAMP where applicable.

Qualifications

• 12 years of progressive information security experience.
• 3-5 years in a leadership role.
• Clearance required: active Secret clearance.
• CISSP certification required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and mature security posture across network, ICAM, boundary protection, and ATO.
• Lead design, implement, and operate secure, compliant infrastructure.
• Develop and execute a strategic security roadmap aligned with regulations.
• Own security architecture reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments.
• Establish incident response, detection, and recovery capabilities; lead major incidents.
• Define and enforce security policies and standards per frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, FISMA, FedRAMP).
• Mentor and develop security team members.
• Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and cloud teams for secure-by-default infrastructure.
