Job summary

GovCIO is hiring an Infrastructure Security Lead for a US Coast Guard program. The role is fully remote within the United States and focuses on maturing security across ICAM, network security, and compliance programs.

You will own ATO, lead threat modeling, and drive security roadmaps aligned with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has 12+ years in information security, 3–5 years in leadership, and a CISSP with an active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 12 years of progressive information security experience
• 3–5 years in a leadership/lead role
• Clearance Required: Must be clearable up to an active Secret clearance
• CISSP certification is required

Responsibilities

• Oversee and mature security posture across ICAM, network security, and boundary protection services.
• Own Authority to Operate (ATO) lifecycle and ensure ongoing authorizations.
• Develop and execute a strategic security roadmap aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Lead security architecture reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments.
• Establish incident response, detection, and recovery capabilities; manage major incidents.
• Define and enforce security policies and procedures aligned with frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, FedRAMP).
• Mentor and grow a high-performing security team.
• Collaborate with IT, DevOps/DevSecOps, and cloud teams on secure-by-default infrastructure.
