Job summary

GovCIO is hiring an Infrastructure Security Lead for a U.S. Coast Guard program. The role is fully remote within the United States and focuses on maturing security posture across network security, ICAM, and ATO processes.

The ideal candidate will design, implement, and operate secure infrastructure, lead incident response, and collaborate with IT, DevSecOps, and governance teams to meet regulatory requirements and maintain compliance.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in information security
• 3–5 years in a leadership role
• US Citizenship and active Secret clearance (clearable)
• CISSP certification required

Responsibilities

• Oversee and mature security posture across network security, ICAM, and ATO programs.
• Lead design and operation of security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, WAF, MFA, SSO).
• Drive security policy, standards, risk management, audit readiness, and continuous monitoring.
• Own security architecture reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments for infra.
• Establish incident response, detection, and recovery capabilities; lead major incidents.
• Collaborate with IT/DevSecOps to implement secure-by-default infrastructure and automated controls.
