Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an Infrastructure Security Lead for a US Coast Guard program. This position is fully remote within the United States and will mature the security posture across ICAM, network security, and compliance.

The role requires 12+ years in information security, 3–5 years in leadership, and active Secret clearance with CISSP certification. You will lead security architecture reviews, incident response, and risk assessments while guiding a security team and aligning with NIST/CIS/ISO

Qualifications

• 12 years of progressive information security experience
• 3–5 years in a leadership role
• Clearance: Must be clearable up to an active Secret clearance
• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification required

Responsibilities

• Lead design and operation of security controls across network security, ICAM, and boundary defenses.
• Develop and execute a strategic security roadmap aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Own security architecture reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments.
• Establish and maintain security incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Ensure alignment with compliance frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, FISMA, FedRAMP).
• Mentor and develop a high-performing security team.
• Collaborate with IT/DevOps to implement secure-by-default infrastructure and automated controls.
• Oversee vulnerability and patch management.
• Monitor security metrics and report to executives.
