Job summary

GovCIO is hiring an Infrastructure Security Lead for our program with the US Coast Guard. The role is fully remote within the United States, focusing on maturing security posture across ICAM, network security, compliance, and ATO.

You will design and operate secure infrastructure, drive security policy, and lead a skilled team to monitor incidents, perform risk assessments, and ensure regulatory alignment across NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP where applicable.

Qualifications

• 12 years of progressive information security experience
• 3-5 years in a leadership/lead role
• Clearance Required: Must be clearable up to an active Secret clearance
• Certification Required: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)

Responsibilities

• Oversee and mature security posture across network security, security and compliance, ICAM, boundary protection, and ATO program.
• Partner with technology, governance, and operations teams to design, implement, and operate secure, compliant infrastructure.
• Lead design, implementation, and ongoing operation of organizational security controls across network security, security & compliance programs, and ICAM.
• Establish and maintain security incident response, detection, and recovery capabilities; lead major security incidents and post-incident reviews.
• Define and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures; ensure alignment with frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, FISMA, FedRAMP).
• Manage and mentor a security team; collaborate with IT, DevOps/DevSecOps, and cloud teams to implement secure-by-default infrastructure.
