Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an Infrastructure Security Lead for the US Coast Guard program. This role is fully remote within the United States and will oversee the organization’s security posture across ICAM, network security, and boundary protection services.

You will develop strategic security roadmaps, lead risk assessments, and coordinate with IT, DevOps, and cloud teams to ensure secure, compliant infrastructure while guiding a high-performing security team.

Qualifications

• 12 years of progressive information security experience.
• 3–5 years in a leadership role.
• Clearance required: Must be clearable up to an active Secret clearance
• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification required

Responsibilities

• Oversee and mature security posture across network security, ICAM, and boundary protection services; manage ATO program.
• Develop and execute a strategic security roadmap aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Own security architecture reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments.
• Establish and maintain security incident response, detection, and recovery capabilities; lead major incidents.
• Define and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, FedRAMP).
• Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing security team.
• Collaborate with IT, DevOps/DevSecOps, and cloud teams to implement secure-by-default infrastructure and automated controls.
• Oversee vulnerability management, patch management, configuration hardening; monitor KPIs.
