Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an Infrastructure Security Lead for our program with the US Coast Guard. The role is fully remote within the United States and focuses on maturing security across ICAM, network security, and ATO programs, while guiding security architecture reviews and roadmaps.

You will partner with IT, DevSecOps, and cloud teams to implement secure-by-default infrastructure, manage incident response, and ensure regulatory compliance (NIST/CIS/ISO/FISMA).

Qualifications

• 12 years of progressive information security experience
• 3–5 years in a leadership/lead role
• Clearance Required: Must be clearable up to an active Secret clearance
• Certification Required: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)

Responsibilities

• Oversee and mature security posture across network security, ICAM, and ATO programs.
• Own security architecture reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments for infrastructure.
• Develop and execute a strategic security roadmap aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Establish and maintain security incident response, detection, and recovery capabilities; lead major incidents.
• Collaborate with IT, DevOps/DevSecOps, and cloud teams to implement secure-by-default infrastructure.
• Oversee vulnerability management, patch management, and hardening baselines.
• Monitor security metrics and maintain documentation/runbooks.
• Ensure alignment with NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, FISMA, FedRAMP as applicable.
