Job summary

GovCIO is hiring an Infrastructure Security Lead for our US Coast Guard program. This position is fully remote within the United States and requires strong leadership of security architecture, ICAM, and incident response to maintain compliance and robust defenses.

You will mentor a security team, align security roadmaps with regulations (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, FedRAMP as applicable), and collaborate with IT, DevOps, and cloud teams to implement secure-by-default infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 12 years of progressive information security experience.
• 3–5 years in a leadership/lead role.
• Clearance required: must be clearable up to an active Secret clearance.
• CISSP certification required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and mature security posture across network security, ICAM, boundary protection, and ATO program.
• Partner with technology, governance, and operations teams to design, implement, and operate secure infrastructure.
• Lead security architecture reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments for new and existing systems.
• Establish and maintain incident response, detection, and recovery capabilities and lead major security incidents.
