Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to build developer tooling and an infrastructure platform that enables velocity and reliability for the engineering organization.

You’ll own the full lifecycle—from local tooling and CI/CD to deployments and observability—using cloud-native tech. Expect collaboration across teams and a focus on scalable, secure systems with Terraform, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP, and Linux expertise.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in backend development and systems engineering.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Java, Python, or Rust).
• Deep cloud-native knowledge with AWS or GCP, Kubernetes, and containerized workloads.
• Linux internals, process management, and resource isolation.
• Understanding of networking, service meshes, and zero-trust security.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build high-scale developer tooling and backend services for a cloud-native platform.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform for reproducible environments.
• Identify and eliminate bottlenecks across the SDLC through architectural improvements.
• Ensure reliability under heavy load with performance- and cost-aware optimizations.
• Lead and mentor teams, shape platform standards, and drive long-term technical vision.
