Job summary

Post University is seeking a Compliance & Contracts Attorney to serve as a trusted advisor to the legal, regulatory, faculty, and staff teams. The role emphasizes drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts and policies to support in-person and online education while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

This fully remote position requires expert contract knowledge, strong legal analysis, and the ability to work with diverse university stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited US law school.
• Active bar admission in at least one state; Connecticut house counsel status required.
• At least two years of experience practicing as a lawyer.
• Experience in higher education is welcome but not required.
• Strong critical thinking and excellent legal analysis skills.
• Interest in developing expertise in contract review and key provisions.

Responsibilities

• Drafts, reviews, revises, and negotiates a variety of agreements including vendor and technology agreements, strategic partnerships and data privacy, international matters, and IP.
• Reviews outgoing group student communications to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provides legal advice relating to ethical operations and compliance.
• Assists with international compliance for our growing international student population.
• Assists with intellectual property matters as requested.
• Supports the legal and compliance groups on privacy, GLBA, GDPR, NCAA, FERPA, TCPA, Title VI, and marketing.
• Performs legal research, drafts and develops resource material for internal use.
• May assist with problem-solving related to student concerns and employment matters.
• Works in collaboration with associates throughout the University.
