Job summary

Post University seeks an experienced Compliance & Contracts Attorney to serve as a legal advisor to stakeholders, supervised by University Counsel. The role focuses on contracts, regulatory compliance, privacy, and IP, with extensive drafting and negotiation for online and in-person programs.

Remote role with minimal travel. The attorney will support contractual reviews, policy development, and education on legal issues across the university, collaborating with faculty and staff to ensure

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited US law school
• Admitted to and in good standing in at least one state bar; CT house counsel status required
• At least two years of experience practicing as a lawyer
• Excellent legal analysis and critical thinking
• Strong drafting, researching, writing, editing, and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to learn and adapt to higher education laws and policies

Responsibilities

• Drafts, reviews, revises, and negotiates vendor and technology agreements, partnerships, data privacy and IP matters
• Reviews outgoing student communications for regulatory compliance
• Provides legal advice relating to ethical operations and compliance
• Assists with international compliance for international students
• Assists with intellectual property matters as requested
• Supports with privacy, GLBA, GDPR, NCAA, FERPA, TCPA, Title VI and marketing compliance
• Performs legal research and develops educational materials on regulatory issues
• Collaborates with university associates and supports problem-solving on student and employment matters
• Other duties as assigned
