Job summary

Peraton is seeking an Identity Platform Integration Engineer to support the DoD ICAM program, focusing on secure authentication services, API development, and identity integration across enterprise systems.

You will work with Java/Spring Boot or .NET to build and secure backend services, integrate with Okta Engine, and ensure compliance with NIST SP 800-63 and Zero Trust principles in cloud or hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• 5 or more years of experience with a BS/BA or 3 years with an MS/MA; DoD/ICAM background preferred.
• Proven ability to design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs and secure identity workflows.
• Hands-on experience with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, PKCE, and token management best practices.
• Experience integrating with Okta Identity Engine and enterprise IAM services.
• Background in secure backend development using Java/Spring Boot or .NET.
• Familiarity with API gateways, microservices, and service orchestration in cloud or hybrid envs.
• Knowledge of JSON/XML, API contracts, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Understanding of NIST SP 800-63, Zero Trust, RMF, and STIG cybersecurity concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs for identity workflows and partner apps.
• Implement OAuth 2.0, OIDC, PKCE, and secure token management patterns.
• Build API authentication services using JWT, access tokens, and refresh tokens.
• Integrate with Okta Identity Engine and DoD enterprise IAM solutions.
• Develop backend services with Java, Spring Boot, or .NET.
• Support API gateways, microservices, and service orchestration patterns.
• Create API contracts and data exchange models (JSON/XML) for partners.
• Apply enterprise integration patterns and asynchronous messaging.
• Design authentication workflow orchestration and session management.
• Support mobile authentication for iOS/Android apps.
• Follow OWASP API Security Top 10, mTLS, and certificate-based auth.
• Ensure secure database integration and data access patterns.
• Contribute to CI/CD, DevSecOps, and automated builds.
• Perform unit/integration/API testing with Postman/Swagger/OpenAPI.
