Maximus is seeking a FULL TIME Senior IBM COBOL Developer to support our IRS client. This is a remote role requiring an active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI).

You will lead COBOL development, update tax system documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Candidates should have 5+ years in COBOL and hands-on DB2/CICS/JCL experience, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field; 5+ years of relevant professional experience or equivalent combination.
• At least five (5) years of relevant experience.
• Active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) required.
• 4+ years of IBM COBOL programming experience.
• Experience with DB2 and IBM DB2 utilities.
• Experience with CICS.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Client support experience.
• Ability to interface with all levels of management.
• Ability to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision and guidance.
• Excellent time management, scheduling and organizational skills.
• Preferred: IRS processing systems experience; SQL, JCL, Batch processing.

• Lead the development of COBOL software solutions meeting business requirements.
• Evaluate new coding techniques and tools and implement where appropriate.
• Design, code, test, and maintain IBM COBOL programs.
• Update documentation and diagrams as needed.
• Track requirements and create unit test cases.
• Rewrite programs using workflow charts and symbolic logic.
• Consult with managers and engineers to clarify intent and suggest changes.
• Perform systems analysis and programming tasks to maintain computer systems software.
• Prepare documentation of program development and revisions.
• Collaborate with testers in development and testing environments.
