Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation is seeking a Sales Application Engineer to partner with the sales team in delivering technically sound, cost‑effective Applied HVAC solutions for large projects.

You will translate customer needs into optimized equipment configurations, supporting complex proposals, quotes, and submittals while collaborating across sales, engineering, and operations to win opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology; MBA or related master’s degree preferred.
• “~5+ years” of experience in HVAC application engineering, applied equipment selection, or pre‑sales technical support.
• Ability to travel up to 50% within the assigned territory.
• Strong knowledge of applied HVAC systems and commercial building applications.
• Experience supporting complex commercial projects including water‑cooled chillers and custom applied solutions.
• Experience leading teams responsible for selection, pricing, and technical proposal support.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and optimize Applied HVAC equipment selection for complex projects.
• Ensure quoting, sizing, and equipment specs meet customer requirements and standards.
• Stay informed on industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging HVAC technologies.
• Develop and refine detailed technical proposals and quotes for complex projects.
• Provide technical application support to sales team members.
• Support sales teams in presenting technically sound, competitive solutions to customers.
• Prepare, review, and approve final technical submittals; ensure compliance with requirements.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities with project teams.
• Maintain accurate records of costs, configurations, and approvals.
• Provide technical guidance on high‑value opportunities to sales and support teams.
• Assist in product training sessions and present on topics during training.
• Support local and national customer events.
