Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation is seeking a Sr. Sales Application Engineer to provide technical expertise and strategic support for complex Applied HVAC equipment selections, proposals, and submittals.

You will translate customer needs into optimized configurations, ensuring performance, budget, and regulatory compliance. The role focuses on large-scale projects, collaborating with sales, engineering, and operations to strengthen value propositions and win rates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering field or engineering technology.
• 5+ years of HVAC application engineering, applied equipment selection, or pre-sales technical support.
• 2+ years of experience with Air Handlers and Chillers.
• Ability to travel up to 50% within the assigned territory.
• MBA or Masters Degree preferred.
• 2+ years of people management or team leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of applied HVAC systems and commercial building applications with complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and optimize Applied HVAC equipment selection based on project specifications.
• Ensure quotes, sizing, and equipment specs align with customer requirements and standards.
• Identify cost-saving and technical improvement opportunities in system selection.
• Stay informed on industry trends, competitor strategies, and HVAC technologies.
• Develop and refine detailed technical proposals and quotes for complex projects.
• Ensure pricing accuracy, margin optimization, and adherence to discounting strategies.
• Provide technical application support to sales team members.
• Support sales teams in presenting technically sound, competitive solutions.
• Prepare, review, and approve final technical submittals.
• Work with sales and project teams to identify scope gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities.
• Maintain records of costs, configurations, and customer approvals.
• Provide guidance on complex projects and high-value opportunities.
• Assist in product training classes and present on multiple topics.
• Support local and national customer events.
