Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Transmission Line Project Engineer to join our Power Delivery Team. Flexible work arrangements allow remote or office-based roles across the Southeast region, with preferred locations including Fort Mill, SC and other major cities.

The role provides technical leadership for planning, design, and delivery of high‑voltage overhead transmission lines up to 765 kV. It requires strong PLS-CADD skills, QA/QC adherence, scheduling, and staff mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 5 to 7 years of relevant post-education engineering experience.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Understanding of the NESC, RUS, and/or GO-95.
• Strong understanding of transmission line fundamentals and PLS-CADD operation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the engineering of transmission projects up to 765kV.
• Develop and maintain project execution plans and schedules.
• Conduct weekly/bi-weekly project meetings with clear deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients on project status and meetings.
• Ensure QA/QC procedures and safety standards are followed.
• Mentor staff and support PM with scope, schedule, and budget.
• Travel to client offices/field/vendor sites as needed.
• Apply PLS-CADD and related design expertise to projects.
