SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer II, Substation for a fully remote role, supporting utility-scale solar, BESS, and interconnection work nationwide.

You will own the preliminary substation design and shepherd the technical scope from kickoff through handoff, aligning design basis, assumptions, risks, and schedule with BD and preconstruction teams. The ideal candidate has a BS in electrical engineering, 3+ years in substation design, and proficiency in AutoCAD and ETAP, plus

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in electrical substation engineering.
• Proficiency in electrical design software (AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar).
• Strong understanding of substation design principles and industry standards.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Aufgaben

• Own the first-pass preliminary substation design by reviewing inputs to define design basis, assumptions, equipment needs, and open items for 10% design.
• Review client documents, PPAs, interconnection agreements and identify requirements, risks and scope gaps.
• Serve as SME for substation design and coordinate inputs from multiple stakeholders.
• Lead development of 10% design including single-line diagrams and general arrangements.
• Coordinate with estimating and scheduling to align design, quantities, and commercial assumptions.
