Job summary

NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection seeks a Community Coordinator to lead recruitment, onboarding, and outreach programs in a public-service setting. The role advances equitable hiring and partnerships with educational institutions and community groups.

You will oversee recruitment processes, engage at career events, and coordinate with DEIA to implement inclusive strategies while ensuring compliance with civil service rules and DCWP protocols.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree and two years of related community work experience.
• High school diploma with six years of related experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience with at least one year in related work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily Recruitment and On-Boarding Unit operations.
• Represent the Agency at community job fairs and hiring events.
• Build partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and community orgs to broaden applicant pools.
• Promote civil service exams and job postings to the community.
• Collaborate with DEIA to embed equity in recruitment and ensure accessibility.
