Job summary

Magpie Health Analytics, Inc. is seeking a full-time, remote Human Resources Manager to lead the day-to-day operation and development of the company’s HR function.

This role will oversee recruiting, onboarding, benefits, employee relations, and HR policy, with a focus on scalable processes as the company grows. The ideal candidate will manage HR across multiple states, stay compliant with federal and state laws, and collaborate with executives and outside counsel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Management, or related field.
• 7 years of progressively responsible HR experience.
• Experience with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits, leave administration, and employee separation.
• Working knowledge of federal and state employment requirements and supporting employees across multiple states.
• Ability to research unfamiliar HR issues, evaluate requirements and options, and develop practical recommendations.
• Experience developing and improving HR policies, procedures, processes, and documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with executives, managers, employees, and external advisors.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation and development of the HR function.
• Manage recruiting, postings, candidate coordination, offers, background checks, and pre-employment activities.
• Oversee onboarding and offboarding and coordinate with managers and other functions.
• Administer benefits, leave, PTO, personnel records, HR documentation, and related programs.
• Support managers with employee relations and performance management.
• Develop, maintain, and improve HR policies, workflows, forms, templates, and practices.
• Review HR practices to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement and implement solutions.
• Monitor federal, state, and local employment requirements and adapt practices as needed.
• Coordinate with Contracts, Compliance, IT & Security, payroll, providers, and other functions to support workforce requirements.
• Research HR issues, develop approaches, and engage management or counsel when needed.
• Build scalable HR systems to handle routine people matters as Magpie grows.
