Job summary

Go4, a sports safety and intelligence platform, seeks a People Operations Manager to own the function from scratch. You will recruit, onboard, develop policies, and create systems of record, reporting to the COO, with no direct reports.

As the first dedicated people hire, you will build compensation, benefits, culture, onboarding, and remote work rituals for a distributed US team, shaping a scalable, compliant foundation for growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in people operations or as an HR generalist, with enough range to cover recruiting, compliance, benefits, and employee relations without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Own corporate recruiting end-to-end for 5 to 10 hires planned over the next year.
• Own and extend Go4’s hiring system, including job descriptions, scorecards, weighted rubrics, and the AI-assisted scoring.
• Assess and implement an HRIS and an applicant tracking system, making them the system of record.
• Own employee data, including new hires, changes, and terminations, and hand it to Finance.
• Write process documentation and automate recurring work to scale the function.
• Keep handbook and policies current, including I-9s and state employment obligations for remote hiring.
• Advise on employee relations and prepare documentation for COO decision.
• Build onboarding program with 30/60/90 expectations and ramp across functions.
• Own benefits, including plan administration, renewal, and broker relationship.
• Own culture for a distributed workforce and plan quarterly gatherings.
• Maintain rituals and internal communications to align a dispersed team.
• Support the OKR process and quarterly goal setting.
