Job summary

DEPCOM Power, a Koch company, seeks a High Voltage Equipment Specialist to join our Substation & Transmission organization. This role serves as the technical authority for HV substation equipment, BOMs, standards, and engineering support throughout project development and execution.

The successful candidate will work with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and suppliers to ensure optimal equipment solutions are specified and executed. This role offers remote work within the U.S.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting high-voltage substation, transmission, utility, renewable energy, or power delivery projects.
• Demonstrated knowledge of substation equipment and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts.
• Experience working with engineering firms, OEMs, contractors, and utility stakeholders.
• Valid U.S. Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the internal technical subject matter expert for high-voltage substation equipment, reviewing and validating specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Develop, maintain, and standardize preferred equipment lists, technical standards, and equipment selection criteria across projects.
• Review BOMs, verify material quantities, equipment configurations, and project design requirements.
• Evaluate alternate manufacturers and equipment solutions with cost-effective alternatives while maintaining utility requirements.
• Develop and maintain equipment specifications, templates, and documentation repositories for engineering teams.
• Support engineering design reviews throughout the project lifecycle, including drawings, submittals, and constructability reviews.
• Interface with internal engineering teams, utility clients, OEMs, EPC partners, and construction personnel for technical evaluations.
