Job summary

Ovation Healthcare, with its ruralMED coding program, seeks Certified Profee/Facility Coders with 3+ years of hospital or clinic experience. You will apply coding standards, query providers to correct documentation, and perform quality assessments of records in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Proficiency in CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10-CM/PCS and strong Excel skills are required. AHIMA/AAPC certifications (CIC, COC, CPC-Payer, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, etc.) are preferred.

Qualifications

• Three years of Facility/Pro-Fee coding experience in hospital or clinic settings.
• Must pass proficiency testing and knowledge assessments.
• Proficient in Excel; strong written and verbal communication; high QA accuracy (95%).
• Must follow official coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Apply coding classification standards to medical records for accurate coding.
• Resolve documentation deficiencies through provider queries and feedback.
• Perform quality assessment of records (electronic and handwritten).
• Research errors or missing documentation to ensure accurate coding processes.
• Abstract and assign ICD-10, HCPCS/CPT codes for inpatient and outpatient settings.
