Job summary

Ovation Healthcare seeks a Pro-Fee, Coder to code and abstract diagnoses and bill for procedures from medical records for accurate reimbursement and reporting. The role operates under general direction and supports hospital billing with strong attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will have extensive ICD-10-CM and CPT coding experience, be proficient with EMR/HIS systems, and be able to communicate clearly with providers. This is a 100% remote opportunity in the United States.

Qualifications

• Proficient in ICD-10-CM and CPT coding; familiar with federal/state reimbursement regulations.
• Ability to review records for clinical pertinence and documentation to support billing and charges.
• Must pass a coding assessment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams).
• Experience working in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD-10-CM codes and CPT/HCPCS codes for various service accounts and E/M charges.
• Abstracts data elements required for billing and regulatory reporting.
• Reviews records for documentation to support charges for services performed.
• Communicates with providers to clarify documentation and ensure appropriate coding levels.
• Resolves claim edits related to ED encounters to ensure compliant billing.
• Supports resolution of simple coding errors for outpatient visits.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to legal standards.
• Participates in training to improve patient and customer communications.
