Job summary

The ideal candidate will have RHIA/RHIT certification and 3–5 years of HIM leadership, with a strong background in budgeting, staffing, and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare/HIM or related field with equivalent experience.
• RHIA or RHIT certification is required or preferred.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements for patient records and data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to develop and execute strategic and operational plans for health information management.
• Ensure conformance to statutes, regulations and standards from external agencies.
• Recruit, develop, engage, and retain a high-performing HIM team.
• Develop, implement and maintain HIM policies and procedures for data collection, storage, access, and use.
• Oversee budgeting, financial analysis, and cost-effective changes.
• Manage vendors and service providers; negotiate contracts and resolve issues.
• Drive innovation in data retrieval, retention, and security systems.
• Collaborate with clinicians, leaders, and IT to align data practices with workflows.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making.
• Monitor KPIs and reporting to track initiative effectiveness and stakeholder satisfaction.
