Job summary

ZipRecruiter is seeking a product leader to own the job seeker messaging channel. You will decide which messages exist, when they are sent, and how we balance volume with job seeker trust and long‑term retention, while partnering with data science and engineering.

This role sits at the center of the marketplace, coordinating with employer teams to drive outcomes while managing deliverability, sender reputation, and compliance across email and other channels.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership: 7+ years in product management with a track record of delivering results.
• Data-driven: comfortable in SQL and fluent in A/B experimentation.
• Lifecycle or notifications experience at consumer scale.
• AI/ML fluency for ranking, relevance, or recommendations.
• Customer obsession: engage users through research.
• Strong communication across engineering, data science, design, and GTM.
• Self-motivated with autonomy to drive impact.

Responsibilities

• Own the job seeker messaging domain end-to-end.
• Decide message types, timing, and volume across channels.
• Track metrics like applications delivered and retention.
• Design and interpret experiments with long-term health in mind.
• Collaborate with engineering, data science, and marketplace teams.
• Ensure deliverability, sender reputation, and compliance.
• Represent voice of the job seeker in off-platform touchpoints.
