Job summary

GAF seeks a Director of Automation and Controls to oversee the Automation & Controls team, working with engineering to drive continuous innovation and align with capital planning and manufacturing optimization initiatives.

The role requires leadership across IT, Process Services, Corporate Engineering, GAF Business Systems, and R&D, while maintaining safety and strong partnerships in a multi-site environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple manufacturing locations.
• Proven experience leading a team indirectly or directly.
• Proven relationship building and development of strong partnerships.
• Working knowledge of CAD; HMI development; PLC; G-Suite; Advanced diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
• Ensure strategic contribution to the manufacturing facilities' 3 & 5 year capital plans.
• Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Engineering, GAF Business Systems, R&D to integrate Automation and Controls.
• Manage all financial responsibilities: capitalized projects, budget development, and financial reporting.
• Oversee engineering practices and application, mitigate obsolescence, and ensure proper documentation.
