Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of Automation and Controls to drive strategic input to capital planning and oversee the Automation & Controls team. This role partners with engineering to foster continuous innovation, while delivering operational support to production facilities and maintaining high safety standards.

The position requires 10+ years in manufacturing, a engineering degree, and proven leadership across multiple sites.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
10+ years of experience in manufacturing.
Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple manufacturing locations.
Proven experience leading a team indirectly or directly.
Proven relationship building and development of strong partnerships.
Working knowledge of: Computer aided drawing; Human machine interface development; Programmable logic controllers; G-Suite; Advanced diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

Effectively manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
Ensure strategic contribution to the manufacturing facilities 3 & 5 year capital plans.
Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Engineering, GAF Business Systems, R&D to integrate Automation and Controls into GAF.
Manage all financial responsibilities: capitalized projects; budget development, management and reporting; collaborate to implement software.
Lead engineering practices and applications; ensure documentation for controls systems; drive improvements.
Provide leadership and support; promote safety and a collaborative culture; ensure team stays current with emerging technologies.
