Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services seeks a skilled Remote PRN HCC Coder with CRC to join our team. The role codes inpatient and/or outpatient hospital records, ED, Home Health & Hospice, and professional services for reimbursement and research in line with federal regulations.

The coder will review full medical records, assign CPT/ICD and MS-DRG codes, query as needed, and ensure accuracy above 95% while maintaining productivity per PHS standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One of the listed coding credentials must be obtained by hire date.
• One to three years of coder experience preferred.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet research.
• Experience with an encoder and EMR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient and/or outpatient hospital records, ED, Home Health, Hospice and professional services using ICD-9/10 CM, CPT-4.
• Assign CPT, ICD and MS-DRG codes for reimbursement and research per federal regulations.
• Review full medical records and ensure accuracy at least 95% with productivity targets.
• Generate queries as needed and resolve pre-bill edits/denials.
• Stay current with ICD-9/10 CM, CPT-4, HCPCS, DRG, APC/HHRG updates and regulatory changes.
