Job summary

Advantmed is seeking an experienced HCC/Risk Adjustment Medical Coder to join our remote US team. The ideal candidate will hold CPC or CCS certs, with CRC as a significant advantage, and deep experience in ICD-10-CM and CMS-HCC coding.

The role requires meticulous coding of medical records, collaboration with clinicians to resolve documentation gaps, and adherence to HIPAA. BYOD policy applies, a Windows Pro device and reliable internet are required; 20 hours/week minimum, with 40 hours/week

Qualifications

• Minimum CPC or CCS certification required; CRC advantageous; CPC-A not accepted.
• 1–2 years of Risk Adjustment/HCC coding experience in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CMS-HCC risk adjustment guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review and code medical records for Risk Adjustment/HCC coding.
• Ensure coding aligns with ICD-10-CM, CMS-HCC, and related guidelines.
• Validate completeness, accuracy, and integrity of coded data.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between documentation and codes.
• Stay updated on coding rules and HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve queries.
• Assist in coding education and audits to improve accuracy.
