Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a Remote OP Facility Coder to handle inpatient and outpatient coding for hospital, ED, Home Health, Hospice and professional services. You will review records, assign CPT/ICD/MS-DRG codes and respond to coding queries, ensuring compliance with regulations.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of coding experience, inpatient experience preferred, and holds HCS-D, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H or RHIT/RHIA credentials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One of the following coding certifications at hire: HCS-D, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, or RHIT/RHIA.
• 3–5 years of coding experience required; inpatient coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient and/or outpatient hospital records, ED records, Home Health & Hospice records, and/or professional fee services using ICD-9/10 CM and CPT-4 classification systems.
• Review entire medical record, assigning CPT, ICD, MS-DRG levels in accordance with regulations and policies.
• Research medical records to complete coding promptly, generate queries as needed, and maintain high accuracy.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICD-9/10 CM, CPT-4, HCPCS, DRG updates and regulatory changes.
• Resolve pre-bill edits, denials, and related issues for assigned accounts.
