Job summary

By Light Professional IT Services LLC is seeking a Senior Hardware/Software Installation Technician to lead field site surveys and oversee installation for a DoD modernization program. The role requires on-site leadership at military installations with CONUS/OCONUS travel and remote work coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/Engineering or 6+ years of relevant field experience.
• 5+ years hardware/software integration and structured cabling.
• Experience conducting site surveys for DoD or Federal Government environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Visio for creating network diagrams.
• Knowledge of power requirements and cabling standards.
• Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity baselines (STIGs).

Responsibilities

• Lead site surveys at military installations (CONUS and OCONUS) to validate power, space, cooling (HVAC), and connectivity requirements for new equipment deployments.
• Analyze existing network infrastructure to determine upgrade requirements.
• Develop SSRs and IDPs, including floor plans, rack elevations, and power calculations.
• Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for procurement and logistics.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot IT hardware and software and related firmware.
• Load OS and apply DoD baselines.
• Conduct burn-in testing and field validation.
• Coordinate with backend engineering teams and PMO.
