Job summary

Digital Realty is seeking a Technician II for Remote Hands operations at our Northlake, IL data centers. You will perform rack and stack, cabling, cross connects, and assist with migrations while delivering service within SLA timeframes.

You’ll work with Deployment and Implementation teams to ensure installations meet delivery dates and maintain 100% uptime. The role requires 3+ years in telecom or data centers and may prefer CompTIA A+/Net+ certification.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Telecommunications or Data Center environments.
• Understanding of telecom structured cabling standards.
• Understanding of network device deployment.
• Professional business communication and interpersonal skills.
• CompTIA A+ / Net+ Certification preferred.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and work in data center environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform Remote Hands services and rack and stack equipment.
• Cable, terminate, and dress fiber or copper network cabling.
• Assist with diagnosis of hardware and software issues.
• Power cycle customer equipment and perform audits.
• Install or remove blade/card memory drives and transceivers.
• Test copper and fiber circuits and document updates in tickets.
• Support migrations of equipment, power, or networking devices.
• Ship/receive packages and manage cross connects.
• Maintain inventory, adhere to SOPs, and ensure data center cleanliness.
• Be available for emergency on-call within 1-hour notice.
